Oftalmia neonatal causada por Virus Herpes Simple tipo I

Las conjuntivitis y oftalmias neonatales poseen diversas etiologías, entre ellas las virales. Dentro de éstas, debido a la potencial gravedad, destaca provocada por el Virus Herpes Simple, tanto serotipo 1 como 2. Se trata una entidad rara, poco frecuente, pero con alta tasa morbimortalidad no mediar diagnóstico tratamiento oportuno. Objetivo: Describir un caso oftalmia neonatal tipo I, sus características clínicas diagnóstico. Caso Clínico: Neonato 8 días vida, sin antecedentes destacar, que presenta edema eritema párpados, acompañado secreción ocular bilateral. Por medio técnica PCR se diagnosticó infección elementos enfermedad diseminada ni afección del sistema nervioso central. Recibió completo Aciclovir intravenoso mejoría clínica completa. Conclusiones: El Simple debe considerarse diferencial en neonatal. temprano oportuno es vital importancia.
